Upholstering a Child's Chair and One More...

Hi Everyone,

Well, Summer has began, kids are out of school and lots of activities to keep the girlie's busy have kept me away from the computer.  So I apologize for the lack of posts, unfortunately I probably I will not be able to post but every week or two.  Of course in the evenings after the girls are in bed I  have to get my fix on Pinterest, Hometalk etc.  So what have I been up to this week, well mostly kiddos stuff....I painted and distressed a footstool and reupholstered a child's chair in linen (of course).

So this is what you do with all those left over fabric pieces...first a lampshade cover and then use a tad of fabric to customize a little  rocker.  This is a great way to practice upholstering since it is so small and manageable and only uses a tiny amount of fabric.

Trim Fabric to match lampshade

Nail head to hold end piece in place.

My littlest needed a footstool in the bathroom so I painted and distressed this little stool.  The wooden stool I purchased from Hobby Lobby and used Amy Howard chalk paint and Ann Sloan wax.

So that sums up my past week for home decor projects.  Be sure to check back next week for more pics of the playroom/family room.

Other beautiful pictures I have seen in blogland lately.  There is so much talent and inspiration here.

The above Image is a room designed by India Hicks.  I love everything she touches!

Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for following me whether it be Pinterest, Hometalk, google+, or email.

XOXO,

  1. Gorgeous work! I searched all over for a little upholstered kids chair like that for my son. I don't think I'd have the patience to upholster it like you did though. He'd probably get it dirty an hour after I finished!
