Patriotic Sewing Projects

Hi Everyone,

I usually don't decorate the house much for 4th of July, but since I had extra  ribbon and linen left over from a project, I thought I would put together a few pillows.  I loved how they turned out...and since I have a relatively neutral home I thought the muted colors were fitting.   You are probably wondering why I would throw in a Union Jack inspired pillow, well my Dad's side of the family is English so I thought well why not put all the patriotic pillows together.  Both pillows I used strips of linen and painted red strips on one and bonded blue ribbon on the other pillow.  The linen was difficult to use at first, but once I figured I could pull a strand of thread for a straight line the process was relatively effortless.

I could use these pillows on the front porch too.

I think I might actually keep these for next year.  There's is nothing like recycling decorations from one year to the next, no waste here.

How about you?  Will you be decorating for the 4th?

Hope your weekend was fabulous!

XOXO

    1. Thanks! I used a acrylic paint from the craft store and painted after I had applied frog tape. Super easy project.
