Difficult to believe this week is almost done...time flies when you are having fun.... I would have to say this bedroom is just my style. Its has a vintage feel, with collected objects and whimsical details. I think perfect for a little girls retreat. This bedroom of course had a few DIY projects, my favorite being the lamp shade covers. Such an easy DIY project with a big impact. I will show you how I created these lamp shade covers in my next post. I also painted the branches above the bed and added fabric covered rosettes to the wall. Tutorial here for the rosettes. My inspiration for the painted branches came from this lovely blog. So here we have the finished project.
View from the door, I know bad lighting. |
The headboard I repainted in a shutter gray several years ago and her bedding we had already. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got them. That sweet pillow I purchased last year from Pottery Barn Kids on clearance and I took the same branch theme and painted it on the wall. I thought it would be easier to paint the wall, since I am not sure this is our forever home and didn't want to rip down wallpaper.

It was so magical to see my little girls face when she saw the completed projects and her finished room. She was smiling ear to ear, a win-win...I am in my element creating for my little sweeties.
Happened upon these beautiful images on Pinterest this week that I thought I would share. I wish there were more hours in a day to blog, peruse pinterest and read others blogs...maybe someday when my sweeties are older...
