Muji

Readers,

I was watching a design show on HGTV not so long ago and a designer, I cannot remember her name, made reference to this company, Muji.  The objects were adorable and fit perfectly into a nursery she was creating.  Shortly thereafter I hopped on the computer and flipped through all the items they sell online.  I am sure there are several stores here in the US, but in our neck of the woods we are doing well just to have a Home Goods.  So you can imagine by excitement when I heard of this site....check it out sometime, the little wooden sets in the gift section are just too much!  Here is a little taste.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and almost prepared for Christmas

My Precious Angels

In the wake of such a tragedy, I gave each of my precious babies extra long hugs and showered them with kisses.  My heart goes out to you Connecticut.

I am thankful each and every day for my sweet angels.

DIY Glitter Candles with Beads

Readers,

I have seen several DIY glitter candles lately and thought I would try the glitter with tiny glass beads.  Unfortunately, I didn't know what to expect so not many photos of the process were taken.

This was the image that I started with, a LED candle with glitter beads

Here is another LED Candle with crystals

I used an LED candle from last year and embellished with the crystals.  The adhesive was a spray glue that I applied liberally to about 3 layers of crystals...Next time I try I plan to add glitter to give the candles a little extra sparkle.

Thanks for Reading and Happy Tuesday!

Vintage, French Inspired

Readers,

There is something so magical about neutrally decorated homes with a french flair.  To me they are peaceful, serene and beautiful.    Bedrooms and living rooms are especially appealing being both unpretentious yet elegant. I have pulled together a few pictures that I love and wanted to share with you.

Love the linen fabrics and then punches of color in fabrics and paintings

I could stay in this room all day

and curl up in this bed with a great book.  The details are amazing.
This vignette is timeless.

Brook Giannetti's Bedroom is to die for.

Hope your weekend was lovely,  whether it be productive or peaceful.

DIY Advent Calender

Readers,

So saw this on DesignSponge and thought I would do my version.

I did use their template to create the stars and cut them to stick to the wall rather than suspend.  Hopefully I will be able to reuse since I used thick construction paper.  I filled them with candy canes, since my girls love them during the holidays.  The girls and I did this project together so it wasn't too time consuming and a fun idea for an advent calender.  Just too bad it took me little longer than I hoped for to post.

Thanks for reading and Happy Wednesday.

Family Favorite

Readers,

This Lasagna is hands down one of my families favorite recipes.  It is a super easy recipe packed with all the stuff mothers love, vitamins etc. yet is appealing to the younger members of our families taste palettes.
Its is a traditionally made lasagna with thawed chopped spinach added to the cheese portion.

The Ingredients
The Meat Layer
 1 pound Turkey meat
2 Jars of a Good marinara sauce

 The Cheese Layer
1 small container of Ricotta Cheese
1 egg
nutmeg
salt/pepper
1 8oz cream cheese
1 container of thawed chopped spinach from the frozen foods section at your market

No bake lasagna noodles

topped with Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheese

Baked for 45min at 385 degrees with foil and then an extra 15min with foil removed

Delicious

Happy Tuesday

Serene Master Bedroom

Readers,

Thought I would share with you our master bedroom.  We wanted to create a space that was not too feminine, that would appeal to both my husband and myself.  I think we created the perfect balance, linen panels, spode plates on the wall, hint of yellow on down  floral comforter for me and the dark woods and leather upholstered headboard for my lovely better half.   This room is a haven for us, we love to retire here at the end of a busy day.
Thanks for visiting...I hope you visit again soon.

XOXO

Sarah Richardson - Everything she touches turns to Gold

Readers,

I personally adore Sarah Richardson's work.  Her shows on television are equally appealing to me, her cute personality and her side kick Tommy make quite a pair and are fun to watch, but her eye for design is so impressive and unique.  Her use of mixing cherished pricey pieces and finding bargains that need a little TLC create a nice balance in a room and make her rooms appeal livable and doable to the average homeowner.  To me, she is one talented lady.    Here is some of her work.

Thanks for reading this blog and have a lovely weekend.
