DIY Christmas Wreath

Reader,

This was a super easy, inexpensive addition to a Christmas Wreath that adds just a touch of the Christmas spirit to any window.  I purchased the cranberry wreath several years ago at a craft store, I think Micheals, or Joann on their clearance rack, and decided this year to add a little burlap, fresh greenery and pine cones.
I decided to sew burlap strips together, however for a more casual rustic look one could skip the sewing totally.  Here is my step by step guide along with a few photos of my daughter who wanted to play this game in between my craft sessions.

Supplies
My wreath and burlap.

How could I say "no."  She painstakingly placed the shapes together and was so proud of the end product

Measure window length and cut accordingly. I cut 6"wide strips by 21" long.
I sewed the burlap edges together.

Hot glued to back of wreath.

Viola!

Lovely Kiddos' Havens'.. Redecorating Part 1

Readers,
My youngest, now three, has persistently over the past few months requested a "big girl" bed.  Naturally,  I jumped all over the opportunity to redecorate a young girls space that has been with us for six years now.  Her bedding now was lovingly made by her Grandmother six and a half  years ago for her oldest Granddaughter.  I would love to incorporate her quilt somehow into the color scheme, although I think it might present a challenge since I would like to move away from the pinks.
Here are a few before pics of her bedroom,  please check back later for her new look.  I have also included  some beautiful girls bedrooms that I had to share with you...

Wallpaper, Wallpaper.

Readers,

I adore wallpaper these days.  It adds great dimension and interest to any space.  Check out these beautiful rooms from SCW Interiors... I especially appreciate the muted tones of the room, the wallpaper just adds that touch of texture.

Christmas Continued

Readers,

Christmas continued....A picture of my joyful three year old led me to continue my picture taking of Xmas here at home.  I decorated the mantle and hang the girls stockings.  Each frame has a picture of my beauties on their first Christmas with us, so sweet and fun for the girls to see how they are growing and changing.   About six and a half years ago now, I placed our first picture frame of Danielle on the foyer table and it has now grown to three pictures of each of our girls at Christmas.  I thought I would continue with Christmas outdoors and put together this fresh arrangement before the weather turned too miserably cold...as it should during the holidays.

Lovin' these Pics

I ran across these images of Andy and Kate Spades Home.  I am personally amazed at the color, comfort and beauty of their Manhattan home.  Their home is fabulously welcoming.  I would love to sit in their living room with a glass of wine and chat.  I am sure they would be interesting...

It's snowing

Today Omaha received their first snowfall...Beautiful beginning for the holiday season

Hi Readers....Girls are back at school following Thanksgiving Break. I had a moment to make the girls beds and share their rooms with you.  My two oldest girls room are mostly Pottery Barn items with a few vintage finds redone at home.  The girls love their rooms, I think they are a perfect reflection on their personalities.  My oldest adores all things girly, frilly and pink, while my middle girly prefers the unexpected...white, pops of purple, green.  Please let me know what you think?  I also added a few pictures of our holiday scenes in our home.  Enjoy!

Happy Monday to All.

The holidays have begun!

Hi Readers,
This is my first attempt at blogging< so please bear with me while a figure it all out.  This blog is intended to "showcase" my interior design love and my love for my four beauties at home.  I have three little girls, 6, 5 and 3 and a loving husband.  I hope to post my favorite things of the day< whether it be a wonderful moment with my family or a beautiful piece of art in furniture or design.  So here goes....

Over the past couple of days I have brought all the Christmas decorations from storage onto the shelves.  It is such a magical time of the year for us.  The girls are overwhelmingly excited in preparation for Santa's arrival and  in turn I too, get swept up in the emotions.  Here is a preview of Christmas at Home.
